Princess Irulan Redesign

Dune: Power, Femininity & Futurism

The figure of Princess Irulan in Frank Herbert's Dune occupies a uniquely ambiguous position of power: politically central yet narratively marginal, regal yet constrained. This research explores how her silhouette — always immaculate, always armoured — became the conceptual foundation for the collection. References drawn from Byzantine court dress, medieval chainmail, and the futurist aesthetic of early concept art for Villeneuve's 2021 film adaptation.
